Sometimes the most useful interface is the one already open. When you are connected to a receiver over SSH, switching to a browser can interrupt the task. adsb-tui brings a view of decoded aircraft data to the terminal, with a polar radar alongside a sortable, filterable table.
Two views of the same feed
The radar gives a spatial overview; the table makes individual aircraft easier to inspect. The application reads aircraft and receiver JSON from a compatible decoder. Plotting aircraft relative to the receiver requires a receiver position, so a populated table does not automatically mean the radar has everything it needs.
Designed around the keyboard
Keyboard navigation and filtering keep the interface usable without a mouse. Light and dark presentation options help it fit the terminal you already use. A compact interface is especially useful when checking a receiver remotely, where the goal is often to understand the current state and move on.
A companion to the receiver
adsb-tui displays observations supplied by the decoder; it does not replace the receiver or create coverage where none exists. The repository documents setup and controls. Start with a working JSON endpoint, then use the two views to inspect what your station is actually seeing.
