Once receiver metrics are in Prometheus, the next challenge is choosing a useful way to read them. dump1090-grafana provides four dashboards that organize those measurements into an overview, coverage, receiver health, and traffic.

Separate the questions

An overview helps with a quick check, while a health view makes infrastructure behavior easier to investigate. Coverage and traffic views answer different questions about what the station observes. Keeping those purposes separate reduces the temptation to put every available graph on one crowded screen.

Treat dashboards as source

Dashboard JSON and provisioning configuration can be kept in version control. The project includes schema and validation support so changes can be checked before import. That makes a dashboard easier to reproduce, review, and carry between installations than a series of undocumented edits in a browser.

Connect the right measurements

These dashboards expect metrics from dump1090-exporter in Prometheus. They do not connect directly to a decoder or generate missing history. Follow the repository's import and provisioning instructions, verify the data-source mapping, and adjust time ranges to the amount of history your installation actually retains.
